El Paso Shooting

Out of respect to the victims and the El Paso community, we will not name the shooter.

Yesterday, on August 3, 2019, a gunman killed at least 20 people and injured 26 others after opening fire at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, according to state and city officials.

"Texas grieves with the people of El Paso today," said Gov. Greg Abbott at an evening news conference following one of the deadliest mass shootings in America. The casualties were the highest number since 2017, when gunmen killed 58 and 26 people, respectively, in Las Vegas and Sutherland Springs, Texas.

Bystander, Glen Oakley tried to intervene in the situation. He was shopping at the Cielo Vista Mall, when he heard gunshots at the Walmart next door. He told KTSM “It was a whole bunch of kids in there. I hope nothing happened to the kids. I tried to pick up as many as I could and bring them out with me.”

He told the reporter, "I pulled my gun out" and ensured that he was a licensed gun-owner with a weapon on him. Texas is one of many states that has licensed concealed carry.

The democratic presidential candidates place the blame for the violence on President Trump. Beto O’Rourke said the blame for a mass shooting in his hometown of El Paso falls on President Donald Trump and his rhetoric about minorities, accusing the President of "encouraging" such acts of violence.

The shooter, aged 21, from Allen Texas, was arrested Saturday without law enforcement firing a single shot after he gunning down dozens of people. His manifesto was posted on 8chan, about an hour and half before the shooting at Walmart began. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the manifesto was written by the shooter and they said they were still investigating the crime.

"My ideology has not changed for several years," the manifesto text reads. "My opinions on automation, immigration, and the rest predate Trump and his campaign for president. I [sic] putting this here because some people will blame the President or certain presidential candidates for the attack. This is not the case. I know that the media will probably call me a white supremacist anyway and blame Trump's rhetoric."

"The media is infamous for fake news. Their reaction to this attack will likely just confirm that," it continued.

The shooter appears to have a profile on mylife.com, which is an American Information brokerage founded in 2002 as reunion.com. The website gathers personal information though public records and other sources to automatically generate a "MyLife Public page" for each person, which acts as a complete biography on every American.

Reports have shown that at 2:46 pm yesterday, the original profile showed that the shooter was a registered Democrat. Four minutes later, at 2:50 pm, his political affiliation was changed (supposedly by leftists) from Democrat to Republican. Two minutes later, his profile was changed once again, and his description now says he is a Republican and a QAnon member. By Saturday night, his profile included anti-Semitic slurs and links him to Trump, Jeffrey Epstein and calls him and Evangelical Christian.

Despite this, the media and the Democrats have gone ahead and run with their narrative anyway.
