Beginning around the third weekend of March in 2021, as the new coronavirus wave breaks out, Europe has been experiencing anti-lockdown protests as new restrictions were imposed. Germany seems to be a hotspot for these anti-lockdown protests. According to Euro News, an event with about twenty thousand protesters were not following covid-19 guidelines, such as wearing a mask. As a result, the police detained several protesters. Other countries in Europe, such as Switzerland and Australia, also partake in these protests.
The main focus of these anti-lockdown protests is anti-mask and anti-vaccination. Many mask-less protesters march the streets of their country with signs containing messages and verbal chants, such as "Stop the fear!" and "Block the vaccination!" For example, in Finland, about 400 protesters gathered together to fight the newly imposed COVID-19 restrictions by violating social distancing rules and remaining mask-less.
Below is a couple pictures of the police arresting a protester in Berlin for "breaking COVID-19 guidelines." Also, a protester in Austria, who holds a sign that translates to "What is going on with this world?"
